YEAR 7 student, Charlie Griffiths took on the 50km your way cycling challenge to raise money for St Richard’s Hospice. He managed to successfully complete the challenge and raise a grand total of £400.

The challenge was to complete 50 k during the month of February which Charlie chose to cycle with his Mum, who is a regular fundraiser for the charity.
Charlie said, “My Mum and I cycled most days on average 6km per ride in order to reach the 50km target, however, I had covid during this time which meant that our last ride was a total of 14km. It was tough but we managed it. Our route was from Whittington down to the river and by the Diglis and then back to Whittington.
St Richard’s Hospice wrote on social media, “We are delighted to say, this challenge raised a fantastic total of £3,497 towards care to patients, their loved ones and bereaved people across Worcestershire. To put this into perspective, this amount could fund a Healthcare Assistant in our patient unit for two months providing individualized, compassionate care.”
Charlie’s Mum said, “We are super proud of him!”
