BOOKBUZZ is a reading programme that supports schools by encouraging reading for pleasure. It celebrates independent choice and works to develop a school reading culture. Nunnery Wood values the importance of reading and the positive impact reading has on many aspects of education. As a result, the books are provided to our Year 7 students free of charge.
We are very excited to have taken part in this hugely successful scheme once again where students are offered the opportunity to select a book from a shortlist of 17 book titles. Book choices were made last term and students should have received their books prior to Christmas. However, due to unforeseen distribution problems beyond our control the books arrived later than planned!

To rekindle the ‘buzz’ around handing out the Bookbuzz books to students, it was decided to do this during a special World Book Day English lesson! It was wonderful to see and feel the excitement when our Year 7’s eventually received their books…
If there are any students who would like to read other titles from this selection, a full set of Bookbuzz books are available to borrow from the school library.
Happy reading!
