SMSC Day

STUDENTS in all year groups took part in another SMSC Day and  we covered a vast range of topics and were able to share lots of key messages. All students looked at consent within relationships and for four Y10 tutor groups they finished their work around harmful sexual behaviour with the outside agency WMRSASC (Purple Leaf). Students in Year 9 and above watched the Alter Ego theatre group perform a play around grooming and county lines and Year 8s were joined by the Worcester Warriors Rugby Coaches to find out more about sport as a part of a healthy lifestyle.

Iosif Stan, Year 11

“I thought that the County Lines play was really impactful. It was really well acted and it demonstrated specifically how the younger generation can be targeted and influenced by drug dealers. It was very emotive.”

Isabella Harmer, Year 11

“The lesson on sexual violence was really useful to learn about. I thought the County lines play was informative and educational in terms of demonstrating the dangers out there for young people. I also found the previous SMSC day particularly helpful for our year group as we focused on work life skills, such as CV preparation and interview techniques.”

Sophie Cockeram, Year 10

“I thought that the County lines play was a good concept and very educational.”

Leah Ridge, Year 9

“The play about drugs had a really important message. The actors in the play were really good and it was very motivating. The lessons about harmful sexual behavior were really good too.”

Lily Halford, Year 9

The paly about drugs was really well done and related well to our age group. I liked how the teachers handled certain topics, especially the consent lessons. They were really good.”
