If you put lemons and limes in water, lemons will float and limes will sink.This is because lemons have around the same density as water (0.99) and they have pores all over their rind, resulting in tiny air pockets on their surface causing them to float. Limes, on the other hand, are denser than water so naturally they sink.

YEAR 7
Food Lessons this Term
In their food lessons this term Year 7 students have been learning about the application of nutrients in their diet and have made Bolognese sauce, stuffed peppers and carrot cakes. Year 8 students have focussed on gelatigation of sauces and have produced pasta cheese sauce, wholemeal breaded goujons and banana bread. Students in year 9 have learned about global cuisine and have had freedom to choose dishes that have included Thai green curry, ginger and beef stir fry as well as pizzas and fajitas. In their GCSE lessons, students in year 10 have produced two course meals and have experimented with raising agents. The results have proven to be delicious and of fantastic quality.
