Year 7 Eco Reps Attend Litter & Waste Live Lesson With 363 Other Schools

OUR year 7 Eco reps joined 363 other schools for a live lesson hosted by the Scottish Eco Schools Team.

The lesson was in three parts and included activities, questions and stand up sit down polls. During the first part students heard all about the effects of litter on our wildlife from a SSPCA animal welfare officer. The lesson then went on to look at the historical artefacts uncovered from a range of eras, and questioned what will the find in the future from our generation – will it just be an enormous amount of plastic?

For the third session students heard all about the waste we produce and the choices we can all make to reduce it. Following the session the students then designed their own litter monsters.

The morning finished with a quiz and the possibility to win an amazing kindly donated from RZSS Edinburgh Zoo, a virtual tour for a class for either the Edinburgh Zoo or the Highland Wildlife Park. We are eagerly awaiting the results…….
